Flying can be extremely stressful experience, especially if it's your first time at an airport. There is a lot you can do to make sure you arrive at your plane on time and safe.
Make sure you have your passport and a ticket with you before you leave for the airport. Check your flight one day before if it is not cancelled or delayed. Print your boarding pass and take it with you.
Arrive early. You should be at the airport between 3 and 2 hours before your flight. Most airports have different terminals: arrivals and departures. Arrivals are for the passengers who are flying in and departures are for the passengers who are leaving. If you want you can exchange your money at the airport money exchange point but be careful because the exchange rates at the airport are usually expensive.
Every flight has a number. Make sure you find your flight on the information board and go to the right check-in point. Before you check-in make sure that your luggage is within the weight limit. Every airline has different limits. They can be 15, 20 or more kilograms. If you go over your limit you might pay extra. It can be expensive.
Make sure that you don't have any dangerous objects in your hand luggage like knives or scissors, liquids over 100ml. Every airline has a list of objects that are not allowed on board. If you carry any electronic devices you must take them out of your bag and leave them on the tray. Make sure you don't have any metal objects with you like belts, watches, coins etc.
After the security check you can follow to the waiting lounge. If you have some free time you can visit a duty-free shop. Then make sure you find your flight information and the gate number.
When your plane is ready to board passengers you will hear a call-in announcement. Go to your gate with your documents and the boarding pass. Then proceed to the plane. You might walk to the plane through the bridge or you go by bus. Have a nice flight.
